Google Ads will work for your painting company if you follow the right process and set up an effective campaign. Many painting companies are going online now across the country but unfortunately many are not setting up their Google Ads campaigns correctly. And this is causing them to lose a lot of money.
But you can prevent that by following some of the tips that I share here.
In this blot post, I share some insights that will help you set up an effective Google Ads campaign for your painting company.
1. Campaign Objective
Before you can update your campaign settings like budget, bid strategy and others, first you’ll need to set a campaign objective. A Google Ads campaign for a painting company will benefit from a Leads objective, to focus on getting leads.
After selecting your campaign, you’ll have the option to pick the goals that you want to track like contact forms, call conversions and other similar ones.
And you’ll then get suggestions on the campaign settings to set for your campaign.
2. Campaign Type
One of the suggestions you’ll get after selecting your objective, is the type of campaign to set up. And there are a few to choose from and this will depend on the objective you’ve picked earlier.
For a painting company that’s new to Google Ads, a Search campaign is the best campaign type to run. That’s because it helps you to reach people and businesses who are searching for a painting company in your targeted locations.
3. Campaign Budget
Your daily budget is the maximum amount you want to spend in your campaign each month. So, Google Ads for a painting company should help you reach your objective and goals.
A good amount to set for your daily budget is about $20 each day. And if you will run your ads on all days, then your monthly spending limit would be about $600 per month. And then you should increase it each month as performance improves.
4. Bidding Strategy
A Maximize Conversions will focus on driving as many conversions as possible for the Leads objective. This is a good bid strategy if you’ve already set up conversion tracking in your account.
If conversion tracking hasn’t been set up yet and you want to get started quickly, then Maximize Clicks will be a better bid strategy to start with.
And then later when you’ve set up the tracking, you can switch to a smart bidding strategy such as Maximize Conversions with a target cost per action.
5. Keyword Selection
Keywords are the most important feature in your Google Ads campaign. They help you target your audiences and reach them as they search for a painting company on Google.
So, it’s crucial that you find and bid on the right keywords, and not waste your budget on search queries and terms that won’t convert for you.
To find these keywords, I recommend you use the Keyword Planner tool that’s available in your Google Ads account.
6. Text Ads
You will need text ads to promote your services. So, each ad group in your campaign will have at least one ad and that should be a responsive search ad, but you can also run some call only ads to attract calls only.
As a Google Ads advertiser for a painting company, the good news is you don’t need to add many ads in your campaign. Usually between five to 15 ads in total is what you’ll need.
7. Ad Scheduling
Along with the ads and keywords and other campaign settings that you need to add or update, you’ll also need to choose the days and hours when you want to run your ads on Google.
My advice for a Google Ads campaign for a painting company is to run the ads all the time. Then as you get traffic and assess the performance, you’ll be able to adjust the times that are suitable for you.
And this is all possible with the Ad scheduling feature that helps you adjust this.
Conclusion
Google Ads is the best advertising platform for a painting company. That’s because it is one of the only viable ways to target people who are searching for your services.
